The desulfurization and desulfurization environmental facilities supplied by Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems are currently operating with reliable performance at power plants in operation. In addition, Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems is making efforts to develop eco-friendly technologies and supply products suitable for air pollution emission acceptance standards.

  • SCR : Selective Catalytic Reduction

Selective Catalyst Reduction is an environmental facility that removes nitrogen oxides (NOx) from exhaust gases by reacting the catalytic layer with reducing agents (Ammonia or UREA) to decompose them into harmless N2 and H2O.

  • FGD : Flue Gas Desulfurization

Flue Gas Desulfurization facility removes sulfur oxides (SOx) from boilers and power plants that uses fossil fuels. Sulfur oxide (SOx) reacts with limestone slurry and is separated into gypsum by-products and removed. The gypsum by-product is recycled as a gypsum board and cement material.

  • GGH : Gas Gas Heater

Non-leakage type GGH is an environmental facility that minimizes sulfur oxides (SOx) discharged into the Stack because there is no internal leakage unlike the Leakage type. The GGH Cooler sets the temperature after boiler combustion to the appropriate temperature for desulfurization, and the GGH Reheater is used to raise the temperature of The lowered gas during the desulfurization reaction process for diffusion in the air.

Waste to Energy (WTE) technology is needed to solve waste problems caused by population growth, industrialization and urbanization. WTE technology of Hyundai Heavy Industries Power Systems maximizes efficiency of energy use by producing power and industrial steam using high temperature combustion gas waste heat generated by incineration of waste.
